Maintaining and happy and healthy lifestyle is very important to me. I find myself to be more productive and inspired when I am looking and feeling my best.
Fitness is a major component of living a happy and healthy lifestyle and is something I’ve come to really enjoy.
I find a lot of my workouts on Pinterest, but I also love workout videos from Beachbody, Physique 57, Jillian Michaels among others. Some of my favorite workouts include:
Treadmill Hill Routines
I tend to avoid running some of the hills around the area I live because they are very steep and a bit intimidating. When using a treadmill however, I am able to gradually increase or decrease the incline to match my comfort zone. Running hills is much more beneficial to your body than running on a flat surface. It also helps increase leg strength, stability, and endurance.
Squat challenges are another workout I like to challenge myself with. I have recently tried a 30 day squat challenge which involves doing a set number of squats each day for 30 days with the reps gradually increasing overtime. Based on your ability level you may start out doing 50 squats one day one and work your way to 250 squats by day thirty.
Similar to squat challenges are plank challenges. A plank exercise involves positioning yourself with your forearms on the ground, aligning your elbows below your shoulders and keeping your arms about shoulder-width apart. Then extend your legs out straight and hold the position for an extended period of time. For a 30 day challenge, you might start out performing a plank for about 20 to 30 seconds and end up holding it for over 300 seconds once the 30 days are up. The plank workout is one of my favorite workouts as it really helps strengthen your abs and your core.
